Practice and research focused on persons with epigenetic psychophysiological disorders using naturalistic communication skills in conjunction with traditional nursing and medicine. She holds multiple awards including The University of Michigan Distinguished Alumni and University of Texas San Antonio Health Science Center Living Legend.

Bio:

John Dye, ND is a naturopathic physician, professor emeritus at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, (SCNM) where he was Dept Chair of MInd-Body Medicine for 20 years. He has developed an extensive program of study that included medical hypnosis, biofeedback, neurofeedback, stress management, and Naturopathic Treatments for Mental Illness. He is currently adjunct faculty at SCNM where he teaches Practicum in Mind-Body Healing. He is currently developing and online course and training manual for mental health practitioners.

Bio:

Joe Dowling, M.S., LPC is a specialist in Ericksonian approaches to psychotherapy who has worked in private practice for 20 years and is currently the peak performance consultant for the University of Pennsylvania basketball program. He published his first book, Zonefulness: The Ultimate Guide for Student Athletes in 2018. He was previously the Director of Training for the Milton H. Erickson Institute of Philadelphia and regularly presents at the Brief Therapy Conference and the Erickson Congress.

Bio:

Tamer Dovucu, MA is a graduate of Ankara University and has a M.A. degree in sociology. He is the founder and director of Optimum Balance Model (OBM) Foundation in Turkey. OBM is created by himself as a life model describing human nature within life and it’s used for education, psychotherapy, business and for social issues. Maternity school and youth problems projects are prior for the foundation. He is also director of Erickson Institute of Istanbul since 2005 and organizing trainings for psychotherapists to introduce Erickson and his works in Turkey. He also does public and business OBM trainings nationally and internationally. He was director of Behavioral Sciences and NLP Center between 2004-2008 which was a partnership with Yeditepe University. He has two books on the field.

Practiced clinical psychiatry in private and public settings, chiefly 20+ years with the VA. Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry, Oregon Health & Science University. Subspecialties: the nature of consciousness and volition, personal identity, trauma, minds as shared self-deception. Three books, numerous articles. Loves the outdoors, photography and music composition.

Bio:

Dr. Norma Barretta studied personally with Milton Erickson and has been teaching the use of hypnosis, neurolinguistics, and the power of language since 1975. A pioneer in paradigm shifting trends of psychotherapy, Norma is a teacher and advocate of Brief Therapy. She has assisted in several surgeries, keeping patients in trance while they have a surgical procedure without anesthesia.

She is a partner in the Madrid-Los Angeles Erickson Institute and is frequently a faculty member for the Erickson Foundation Congresses. She currently teaches in Spain, Poland, Italy and for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She has recently been learning about the healing power of sound from her daughter Jolie Barretta, and is now using sound to deepen and enhance trance state with some of her private patients. She has taught for the International Society of Hypnosis and the European Society of Hypnosis.

Jolie Barretta grew up in the Barretta household where she was the subject of early experimentation in different methods of trance induction by her parents Philip and Norma Barretta. Later, she was the demonstration subject for a seminar in Rome, Italy, where she was prepared for the surgical removal of 4 impacted wisdom teeth, which were extracted without anesthesia.

After studying at California State University and the University of Florence in Italy, she coached the U.S. National Gymnastics Team working with 8 Olympic athletes, including the gold medal winning men’s team of 1984 at the Olympic games in Los Angeles.

She wrote “Body Alignment” in 1985 (Burgess Publishing) and taught seminars at several U.S. Olympic training centers for Olympic level athletes in several sports.

12 years ago she began research and development in the field of Sound Healing and began practicing Cymatic Design in 2012. She currently has a private practice in California where she offers Sound Sessions in her studio. She presents seminars on Cymatics in Europe and has presented at the Globe Sound Conference in the United States.

Jolie is fluent in English, Italian, French, and Spanish.
